The first riff off “Golgotha” is a fitting introduction to the madness of the early composition of Incantation. It is abrasively confrontational yet more detailed than what its immediacy initially hints at- although the listener is confronted with the familiarity of power chord accents and tremolo picked notes, the arrangement presents an inversion of death metal tropes that echoes the blasphemous lyrical content of the band. Incantation released a music for the track “Messiah Nostrum” off their sure to be lame upcoming album Profane Nexus which comes out on Relapse Records later this year on a date I do not care enough about to Google or read the description of the Youtube video for. Neither should you as you absolutely should not pay money for this excuse to tour.
Incantation released the first “single” well preview track of their sure to be mediocre upcoming album, Profane Nexus. “Rites of the Locust” rehashes their past material into an ultra generic death metal song. The actual song sounds like it rehashes a bunch of licks on the already rehashed Vanquish in Vengeance.
Incantation announced that their new album os coming out August 11th on Relapse Records and posted a teaser on their Zuckerbook page. Hopefully Profane Nexus will be better than the somewhat rehashed Vanquish in Vengeance and the speed and doom metal mediocrity of Dirges of Elysium. Don’t get your hopes up.
