Abigail
Intercourse and Lust
[Modern Invasion]

Aahhh Abigail. The earlier demo's from this band were violent, evil, Beherit-style insanity filled with martial art popularized keyboard fills, but they've slowly moved up the chain of progression and are now creating some tight, yet still insane tunes. Lets have a look...:)

Nine Tracks of insane, violent, and fucking SICK black (or is that ninja?:P) metal would be a fine description. Hailing from none other than Japan of all places, Abigail are one of many fairly extreme bands coming out of that scene. And to tell you the truth, it's quite impressive, both in relation to technicality, brutality, sound, and interest. One things for sure when listening to this though, these guys really know how to play their instruments. Ripping bass riffs, fast paced solos, and interesting drum roles are all used to create a really violent, if not evil atmosphere. The songs on this disc are (for the post part) very, very fast...they move at unthinkable and violent paces, and as solos and great vocals are thrown over them, create an actually *fun* (yes!) listen. "This album is dedicated to: Mirai (Sigh) and Early 80's Euro German Evil Metallic Foundations" is what one can find in the inside cover, and basically this nicely sums up this band influences. Destruction laden riffs and sounds can be heard all over the place, and even an occasional touch of Sigh (although not much) is added to the music. But what we can mostly find here is pure fucking black metallic sounding EVIL. The vocals here are fucking violently screamed in a VERY evil way...I really like the vocals on this album, simply because Yasuyuki let's go completely...it would be great to watch him doing these live. Besides the great metal sound to the music (not very much melody to these tracks, but it fits the music) occasional asian sounding experimentation in relation to noise related music (samples, strange drums, and distorted vocals) making for an even better, and original listen. I think this album is fucking great, and that one and all should check it out. Original, thrashy, violent, and bloody evilness all make up for a great 40 minutes. Oh, and check out the band pictures...these guys truly are an evil looking bunch of ninja black metal warriors :)
