Magog / Nebiros
While Waiting the Worms
[Bleme Euryale]

Another split demo coming out of France (there seem to be quite a few of these), and what a crack-induced slab of insanity it is. These two basically unheard of groups that I know nothing of have nicely impressed me here, and have combined to created a worthy pick-up. Let's look at the bands separately though to get a feel of what each of them can do:

MAGOG: Magog are the superior of the two groups in my mind. Beherit-style chaos, with very sick vocals...but with melodic and heavy sounding keyboards in the background?? Yes, that's correct, imagine Beherit with some very thick sounding synths in the background. Very nice indeed :)

NEBIROS: Less interesting than Magog. Fairly similar in their messy, "no-trends" style, but just not as nice to listen to. To tell you the truth, the music here reminds me quite a bit of what would occur had Mayhem been led by Holocausto of Beherit during the "De Mysteriis..." sessions (vocals remind me of Atilla's Mayhem vox). Not bad, but fairly bland. As a side note, why is one song called "4 439 556 (The Tritalionic Abyssal Horde Reign)?? Is this the "Tritalionic Abyssal Horde's" hotline/chat-line??? BAH

And there you have it. Violence, some interesting sections, hand numbered/limited, purchase if you like early second wave styled black metal violence. Because this is above average, and nicely compliments that particular style.

From: Eritius Flood (via Brandubh)

"According to several noted texts on demonology, 4,439,556 is given as the number of lower devils commanded by the generals of Hell... Some other numbers are 7,405,926 (Weyer, 1518) and 133,306,668 (de Spina, 1459). I have (no?-Brandubh) real knowledge as to how these numbers were calculated, however."
