Enslaved
Frost
[Osmose]

Grim and unpleasantly cold they used to be, bands from the shores where once raiders took sail towards the south. By those evergreen woodlands that clutter the fjords, they must have caught in their hearts songs of olden times, song of fairie, song of dark mysticism, who knows what, who knows the extent?

Their second album 'Frost' is a slab, that is the word that comes to mind. It has the weight, form and also density of a thick slab of iron. With edges that are hard to describe with words, it assaults the ears and senses to brutalize with viking metal. An effort to be commended, it was released in the phase of downfall of many other Norwegian bands, this band however held strong until the last years (I actually haven't heard the last one but someone said it isn't so good).
