2 cassettes

This is for sure one of the best underground compilations released in a long time. 2 cassettes containing hours of interesting and original music from Lithuania/Estonia/Latvia with professional packaging and effort. Very impressive!

Besides having such a hefty load of music contributing to it's worthiness, the compilation also comes in a very tasteful cardboard slip-case with professional print and colour. There's also a bio for each band, and photo printed on pro-gloss paper. AND, upon purchase of this compilation, Dangus gives you a coupon worth an excellent deal: 5 of it's releases for 15 dollars US!

But it's the music that makes this compilation so great. It's quite obvious upon listening to this release that the Baltic area has an extremely large host of up and coming bands. Some bands such as Anubi, Wejdas and Poccolus already have decently distributed releases, but it's the newer bands that are for sure the best. Zpoan Vtenz for example play in a style that's not too far off from Storm. The vocals aren't quite as good, but the music is for sure much more professionally done. And Skyforger!!! Some of you have probably been hearing about this band, and anything positive said about them is NOT a lie. This lot from Latvia are easily the best band in the demo-underground at the moment. Interesting and original folk music combined with excellent grim black metal. The vocals drip with rawness, as they are a combination between early Immortal and early Graveland. The lucky bastards (a Dutch label I think?) that signed this band must be smiling at this moment. Grab their "Semigalls' Warchant" before it's too late.

Overall, this is an excellent compilation that probably took a good deal of effort to put together. The Baltic area is truly lucky to have a label such as Dangus supporting them, and I think most other unknown scenes would die to have support like this. Worth every penny you spend on it to say the least!!!
