The scene from "Apocalypse Now!". The helicopter gunships are hurtling towards the coastal village, with Wagner blaring from the specially mounted speakers. A disturbing concept, no? Try this on for size. Rok (SadEx Vocalist) in charge of those very helicopters. And he's forgotten to bring his Wagner tapes, so he uses his voice, while blindly discharging napalm bombs and every other thing he can get his fukking hands on ("if necessary"). That's how I'd best describe the intro ("Ultra Maximiser Of Agony") these obviously insane bastards have made, for their latest CD.

As soon as the "final bomb" is dropped during the intro, the band pause before UTTERLY exploding with "Dejekta Infinitus" which features one of the most intense/hilarious pieces of music ever, with Rok screaming "DEATH FUCKING METAL!!! FUCKING SHIT FUCKING CUNT!!! ARRRGGHHHHHHH". The first 10 seconds of this song, should be enough to push Herve to suicide.

Yes, Sadistik Exekution have done what they've always promised to do. "We Are Death, Fukk You" was of course, meant to be an EP, which in Osmose' haste, was padded with too many intros, and the "Suspiral" single, to reach the magic Osmose Half-Hour; and thus sounded a bit(!) disjointed. Nobody could deny their warped genius, after hearing songs like "Mathematikus", and "Evoke War Vomit". All you hardcore black metal groupies who think they're childish and untrue can sod off, because SadEx were one of Mayhem's BIGGEST influences, and it show(ed)s.

Sloth is once again in the band (he seems to quit/rejoin every couple of months) and he drums like a man possessed, the entire album a full-on barrage of pure death metal. I can't wait to see this new stuff performed live! Musically speaking this is an extension of the excellent war/speed/death metal we heard on the "Demon With Wings" single from last year, from which the re-recorded songs "Demon With Wings II" and "The Return Of The Proxima" are culled. Also, the song "Sadistikally Elektrocuted" is a re-recording of "Elektrokution" from their last LP.

Ah...and on to the rhythmsectionofdeath. Rev. Hades's riffs are piercing and heavy as ever, and Dave Slave...how does one account for Dave Slave? I met him once, in Brisbane, in 1992. I called the mental hospital, but they obviously didn't catch him back then. His bass playing is extraordinary, an epileptic fit of the fingers.

In the 5 days I've had this, the only reasons it's disappeared from my CD player, are to play the awesome new Emperor album, or to put on something I can screw to, like Moonspell, for when all my groupies come and visit me... "alright baby, after this song, I promise.."

Like them or loathe them, they are Death, so fukk you.

RATING 10/10
