I got this in exchange for an In Flames 'Whoracle' CD. I think I came out on top in that trade easily. I've had this on tape for a while, but owning it on CD rules. This album, compared to the later Absu material is rawer in the sense that you have to listen a little harder for the killer riffs. It sometimes brings Incantation to mind with the subtle catchy parts. I've heard from many people that they think this album is generic. That's a laugh. "Descent to Acheron (Evolving into the Progression of Woe)" is one of the best Absu songs I've heard. Another plus side to this is its shortness; it clocks in around thirty minutes. That's the magic time for any extreme metal release. Well, forty minutes is okay if it kicks ass (doom/death is the exception).
