I never heard this band under their former moniker, Baphomet, but after getting this 7", I plan to get all the stuff they released under both names. This is rather obscure/underrated old-school death metal. This material particularly, calls to mind the first Grave album for some reason. Maybe it's the drum sound. Maybe not. The vocals aren't as deep, more mid-range, but well-done. Competent drumming and guitar/bass playing shows that this band have (or had) what it takes to get noticed in the underground. This band rages, pure and simple. Unfortunately, there are only two songs on here: "Enter the Confines" and "Altered Minds". However, they're both very worthy. As with just about any old-school death, there are touches of blast and good amounts of deathly groove, the only good kind of groove. Word has it the band broke up after releasing their first full-length as Banished, on Peaceville. In my opinion, this is quite a loss to the death metal scene.
