Bulldozer
Neurodeliri
[Avantgarde]

The fourth and last (as far as I know) Bulldozer release, not counting the "Live in Poland" album (which I've neither seen nor heard). The album was dedicated to Darrio Carria, a founding member of Bulldozer who decided "enough is enough" and committed suicide (the album itself is named after the project Mr Carria started after his departure from Bulldozer).

This album pretty much continues in the vein of their third release ("IX"), with the biggest difference being the addition of keyboards to the roster of Bulldozer's sound (used very well in fact - considering this was recorded in 1988, one might expect horribly weak synth patches, but that isn't the case). The songs are much more "choppy" this time around (this is definitely what one would call a thrash album), and I do see a return of sorts to their Venom-esque roots in songs such as "Minkions", but overall, this is another "heads down on the count of three and fuck shit up" type of affair. Reference points would of course be early Slayer, Venom, and perhaps some of the German thrash bands of the time. The songs aren't as strong as those on "IX", but they still hold their own fairly well. This is the weakest of all the Bulldozer studio output, but I wouldn't call this a "weak" album by any stretch of the imagination - it just isn't as gloriously enthralling as their earlier material. If you enjoyed any of the previous re-releases of this classic Italian band's career, then pick this up (after all, no Bulldozer is actually *bad*)...but if Bulldozer were never your cup of tea to begin with, don't expect and sudden revelations to dawn upon you. Nuff said...
