The Mobile Mob Freakshow
If You Don't Have The Guts -
Stay Away!
[Noxious/House of Kicks]

If Motorhead were to have a bastard child with The Misfits, The Mobile Mob Freakshow would be the result. The only other thing I've heard by this band is "Deathtrip 2000", and while I enjoyed that CD, I was put off by the production which ended up sounding "industrial" at times - that's nowhere to be heard here, and the result is a far superior release. The Mobile Mob Freakshow have so much bottom end (were talking H-E-A-V-Y...think a less gritty Entombed "death rock" production) saturating their sound that even when they decide to rock out full speed ahead, it doesn't come off as sounding all that fast. Vocals are hoarse but decipherable, drums pound away like mad, and the guitars buzz around you like vultures waiting for their prey. There's one word to describe this : SOLID. Not really recommended to the black/death metal crowd, but others might enjoy this (that is, if you don't mind paying import prices for a mCD that has a total running time of under 9 minutes). And hey, how can you not love a CD with such great cover art and a song entitled "Don't Stick You Dick In The Devil's Daughter" ?
