Arise From Thorns
Before An Audience Of Stars
[Dark Symphonies]

This is a re-release of Virginia's Arise From Thorns' second self financed CD (The band have now changed their name to BRAVE since adding a metal guitarist/sound). This is remastered with 3 bonus tracks and new artwork. The press release compares them to a bunch of bands I never heard of (except for Lacuna Coil) like October Project, Faith and disease, newer Rhea's Obsession, Renaissance, Claire Voyant, Quidan, Second Story, and Solstice.

This is progressive accoustic music (rock?) with female vocals, sounding like a cross between Pink Floyd and maybe a non-metal version of The Gathering. Arise From Thorns really have no place on Larm, but it was sent in to be reviewed, and no doubt some of you like to veg out to mellow stuff like this, with cute chicks like Michelle Loose here giving you a woody. Pretty cool for what it is, and there's a Celtic feel to this album.
