Almost no one here will care for this, but one reason made me write about it. MEGADETH. I thought "These Boots..." was on the 'Rivers Edge' soundtrack, but nope, I confused the two (becuase there were killer tunes by Slayer and Hallows Eve on it instead I think). This 1987 release contains little info, but has pics of each band. How can the Megadeth track be produced by Paul Lani and from 1985? That makes no sense. The 1985 version was produced by Dave Mustaine and Karat Faye. This heavy, pounding production makes it sound like it was lifted off "Peace Sells" instead of "Killing is My Business". I recall that this was done after guitarist Chris Poland and drummer Gar Samuelson were kicked out, so it's Mustaine and Ellefson. The drummer is your guess. No radio intro, and the guitar soloing is slightly different, more polished, and longer. I think it's pretty fuckin cool, otherwise I wouldn't be wasting my time telling you about it. Anyway since most folks, especially Megadeth fans forgot or didn't know about this, tah dah!

The rest of this CD is not too interesting, but I play it once in awhile. There's cheesy cock rock poser metal, pop, cowpunk, a WASP B-side, a different version of the "Mountain Song" (oooh, the vocals are so scary and wannabe metal...blah). Simon Steele & the Claw aren't bad. Reminds me of Riot "Born In America"-era or that old Australian heavy metal band Heaven "Where Angels Fear To Tread" lp. Legal Weapon sound like Fleetwood Mac, I have to stare at my Stevie Nicks albums and relieve myself, believing she and her backup singers will make a house call one day. The Little Kings are country-ish like Social Distortion sort of. All I need is a new issue of Jugs and the original Josie & the Pussycats album from the '70s with Cheryl Ladd singing, and I'll be one notch less unhappy...someone pass me a pilsner and put on that new Alastor album.
