Anaal-Nathrakh
Anaal-Nathrakh
[Independent]

This is some brutal shit! The name alone summons darkness you can't wait to meet. Sometimes this insane British black metal band reminds me of a marriage of the best elements from Mayhem, Burzum and Darkthrone. Anaal-Nathrakh is surely one of the best black metal bands to surface from England in recent years.

Formed by V.I.T.R.I.O.L. on vocals, Leicia on bass, Irrumator on guitar and Battlesticks, their drum machine. Together, these three necro-metallers blaspheme their way through four tracks of utterly raw blackened hatred. They are even confident enough in their talents to include a cover of Mayhem's "Carnage" as the closing song. The production is fittingly raw and the band plays it fast and brutal.

I don't see why Anaal-Nathrakh wouldn't be signed anytime soon. They deserve a chance to share their vision with a larger audience. It will be interesting to see what happens to this band next.
