Immortalis
Indicium De Mortuis
[Morbid]

Brutal German death metal from 1991. Reminds me a little of Atrocity a long time ago off their "Blue Blood" single. Catchy, heavy, tortured. Good, choppy , stop/ start playing. Could almost be a band from Florida, but Immortalis are a litttle more original, sparingly using synths, piano, and haunting background vocals. The main vocals are throatily growled like Death/ Bolt Thrower.Guitars are sharp and fuzzy, pluggged into mixing board sound. There aren't any "blast" beats so, I doubt Cannibal Corpse fans would get into this album, even though it has that kind of feel, and crappy drum parts they would use. More for old school metal, into Death, early Morbid Angel, Obituary, Nocturnus, etc. The Venom cover is played well, but they sort of make it sound like Sodom covering Venom. To my ears anyway. I like this. No idea if this is hard to get a hold of. Highly enjoyable for me, so there, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!
