Ozzy Osbourne
The Ozzman Cometh
[Epic]

The only reason any fan really neeeds this 'greatest hits' is for the *Black Sabbath demos* from Ozzy's 1970 Basement Tapes. The sound is bare, raw, minimalistic, just what I like. Of course, longtime Sab fans will consider them damaging to the original album versions due to the poor production. Some have different lyrics. As far as Ozzy's solo work, there are definitely some tracks I would have left off, but then the odd person who might only know pop songs like "Shot In The Dark" "Crazy Babies" or "No More Tears" wouldn't ever know about better metal classics like "Over The Mountain" or "Mr. Crowley" (yeah, yeah, obviously they wouldn't be visiting an extreme website like Larm, so why be nice?) ....ok, this comp fucking bites the big one. The Sabbath demos (hey, where's the cover of Blue Suede Shoes?) should have been added onto Black Sabbath's "Reunion" release or something else instead, cuz I own all the Ozzy already and the unreleased track from the "Ozzmosis" sessions I could live without. Fuck man, where's "One Up The B Side", the flipside of the 12" silver single for (I think) "Over the Mountain"??? And I seen one Ozzy fan's webpage alluding to over an hour's worth of other rare or unreleased songs with Randy Rhoads up til Jake E. Lee-era........Anyways, the interview is pretty cool on the CD ROM bonus disc, and the Smash Ozzy's Bones video game is a nice little stupid bonus.
