Angrenost
Evil
[Andromeda]

Apparently the people of Portugal don't have access to something the rest of the world is aware of. This interesting device is known as "The Thesaurus". And how much black metal has made it out of Portugal? Off the top of my head, I can only think of the mighty Decayed.

The CD is decently packages as well, as it comes with some lovely photos of space that would have had a better place in a book then a metal CD...to each his own. I sometimes wish photos of space in metal albums had gone out in the 80s.

I could see this mCD appealing to a number of people, as it is very much like Emperor. The four reviews I've read have also hyped this as "incredible", something that, as with most over-hyped releases, confuses me. What is so special about this mCD? Since when do we award positive reviews to bands that overcome the "shit" hurdle, yet still can't be considered "good"? It's fine and dandy that Angrenost perform their Emperor style metal with more skill than some similar bands, but this release is still extremely ineffective.

Maybe I'm just bored with unoriginal black metal. Black metal that doesn't do anything in terms of METAL or the emotions I want brought up when listening to this brand of music. Rather, it seems that many people merely want easy-listening noise without challenge. I can't see this working with too many metal warriors out there, since Angrenost are an uninspired and barely audio-palatable group.
