"Caedes Sacrilegae", the first album from this German group, is an uninteresting mess of a metal CD. I find it impossible to listen to the near hour long recording without breaking out into a sweat and wishing I was someplace else.

The main problem, obviously, is the drum production. Besides being a weak drummer, the production makes the instrument come out sounding like someone is beating on a massive, plastic jug. The sound slowly digs into your brain like an audio drill, driving anyone who hears into a deep state of insanity. In other words, it's fucking awful, and makes the album impossible to listen to!

The riffs are equally annoying. There's something "silly" about them that makes the entire album unappealing, especially when they combine with the keyboards. "Aeon of Dreams" is a clear example. The vocals, the only decent part of the album, stand on top of the production, but without any music to back them, are quickly lost.

Nobody needs this album in their collection. "Caedes Sacrilegae" is a weak and fatiguing black metal CD, period.
