Saxon
Power And The Glory
[Carrere]

This was basically my first encounter with heavy metal, and I was extremely impressed by the power and energy it represented, as a contrast to all other forms of music I had come across before, which was mostly pop music, and I was hooked right away. So this album holds a special place in my metal universe, as an absolute essential, but I do not know how I would react to it if I heard for the first time now, maybe I would find it boring? I can't really say, but it did lead me unto a path of metal music, and therefor it rules. If you are just looking to further into what other bands were part of the NWOBHM along side with Iron Maiden, who everyone knows, Saxon might be a place to start.
