The gods have smiled upon this release. Kari's vocals are beautiful. Fenriz and Satyr's music and vocals are powerful. Maybe I shouldn't have been reading Beowulf while listening to this, but if you don't feel any sort of romantic (in the Wagnerian or medieval sense of the word, just to be perfectly clear) trip off of this album, you don't deserve to be listening to metal or breathing my air. As damn near perfect a record as I have ever heard. And no, to my ears Otyg doesn't quite have the same magic, though they are a fine band. Storm, as a project, stands alone.
