Deiseal - an Irish word - means "clockwise"/"heading in the right handed direction". It also has a more spiritual meaning I suppose, in terms of invoking - it's also the only reason I picked up this disc (yes, me = stupid). After listening to the band Deiseal, who are French by the way, I think a better band name to pick up would be "homaighnéasach"

The inner sleeve photo shows the band all cuddled up in an "art fag" pose. The packaging is pink and purple for fuck's sake! "Look at me, my eyes are closed, my hand is placed on my forehead, and I'm close enough to kiss the drummer who I'm currently hugging"! Rest assured this isn't metal music for those of us of the heterosexual persuasion…

"Abyssus Abbyssum Invocat" sounds a lot like the more gothic influenced of the Greek bands. Like Elysian Fields sort of, but with some power metal in the riffing, and less obvious keyboards. Tons of melody, tons of boredom, and countless pointless songs - all topped off with a keyboard intro of the utmost worthless ranking. The "variety" of vocals (from deeper classical Greek black metal to more higher-pitched Bathory-esque) make the music sound even more weak, as it's like listening to someone pouring sand into your ear.

Fuck this. I just don't need crap like this in my collection. If this were World War II central Europe, then Deiseal would be a jew, and would have tasted gas a long time ago…
