So everyone kept saying, "Mercenary is a yawner, man. Avoid it." And I'm all, like, "No way man, Bolt Thrower RULES!!!" So, now I have it, and it's a yawner. Mercenary is lacking speed or something. Its chock full of yummy Bolt Thrower riffs . . it just doesn't go anywhere. There seemed to be a feeling of dynamic on previous releases. Songs would blast out and continue blasting, or start out as a bombastic dirge riff, then blast. These songs are all pretty much mid paced with little blasting or other dynamic. Maybe it's a grower.
