Anaboth
Nie Czas Pmiotów
[Independent]
Eschewing ambient atmospherics, Anaboth creates a utilitarian form of black
metal employing a straight-forward, old school composition approach. Having
an almost traditional metal feel with its preference for riffing rather than
speedy, sweeping chord progressions, the music at once draws the listener in
with its catchiness and repulses you with its harsh, no-frills aesthetic.
Impressions of quirky Greek black metal, early Bathory and Vikernes' orcish
vocals come to mind. For this reviewer, this is more of a "bang your head"
metal moment than something to listen to while contemplating mass
extermination or your insanity caused by glimpsing an unspeakable horror
from beyond the stars. (NOTE: I'm assuming this is black metal, everything
is in Polish or some other Slavic language, and I haven't a clue what it
says other than the words "Cthulhu" and "Szatana". So, it probably
incorporates a little Satanism and Necronomicon/Lovecraft mythos.
