Abigor
Origo Regium 1993-1994
[Napalm]
”Origo Regium 1993-1994” is a compilation of material from ABIGOR’s various
demos and promos that I haven’t seen in large circulation in the tape-trading
scene, so there really is interest for this.
Most of the songs are familiar from their first album ”Verwüstung” but the demo
versions are different enough to be a worthy companion anyway. Tharen’s vocals
on this album are screechy, high and evil, quite like Ihsahn’s used to be on
EMPEROR demo era – the trebly production gives all of this demo material
actually a similar feel to EMPEROR’s classic demo ”Wrath of the Tyrant”.
One might find something of a commercial rip-off feel from this release, since
it is less than 40 minutes long overall, they have selected songs that were
re-recorded for album and more than one intro/interlude style track (these sound
evil by the way, they have also ripped off TANGERINE DREAM ”Zeit” in the intro).
But I can not complain because this is the MUSIC OF SATAN anyway.
Raw black metal with some melody, epic black warrior spirit and medieval devil
worship attitude.
