Edge of Sanity
The Spectral Sorrows
[Black Mark]

An incredibly important album for the Swedish metal scene, and the most noticed of all E.O.S offerings. Although in my opinion, not their best.

The E.O.S sound was just about realized on this album; adding melody and depth to the grinding, buzz saw Entombed sound that was so popular at the time. Some songs such as The Masque, offer a surprising musical intelligence that hadn't appeared in death metal until this CD. This album is a milestone in death metal, but does not capture the full brilliance of the later E.O.S records, and suffers from lousy drum and bass production. Still a must have for fans of melodic death.
