Moonblood
Taste our German Steel!
[End All Life]

Besides having one of my favorite logos in all of black metal, Moonblood are also one of the longest running and most impressive bands in the black metal scene. This is a 'farewell' album in many ways. One of the members has a 'viking metal' project now, and has released a 12", although that's all that I know. This release is limited to 100 hand-numbered copies.

"Embraced by Lycanthropy's Spell" kicks off the album in a very familiar way, repetitive and catchy, not unlike what Darkthrone were capable of at their most repetitive. The same riffs are repeated over and over throughout the lengthy track. "Sarg & Tod (Part II) repeats itself as well, but contains a nifty guitar lead near the end that adds some flavor to the track, not unlike the clean guitars on 'Apocalyptic Visions'.

This is somewhat of a disappointment due to the generic feel of the album, but still contains enough feeling to be appreciated as a Moonblood release. Of course it's hard to top the first two 7", so it would be unfair to expect something totally innovative.

"And to all you freaks out there, this album is our last one. The band already didn't exist anymore when it was recorded. It's a special limited edition only for you, to show our respect to you, who fight each day for the true goals of Black Metal. An album for underground maniacs, made by underground maniacs. Do never forget in your whole life what we all did start! And do never forget that Black Metal isn't music only! Black Metal is ideology & a life style dedicated to all the bad & evil in this fucking world! We'll meet us in Hell! Go down fighting...' - Gaamalzagoth.

Thanks lads!
