Angelcorpse / Martire
Winds of Desecration / Hellstorm-Chaosrape
[Independent]

The impossible to find and very unique 7" from the American and Australian hordes is of course a fine slab of chaotic death metal. Angel Corpse show up with a re-recorded track and a Sarcofago cover, while underground legends Martire provide us with two new tracks.

The re-recorded version of 'When Abyss Winds Return' is over the top fast and intense, and clearly doesn't stay along for too long, as it's over as soon as it starts. The Sarcofago cover could easily fit into an Angel Corpse album, as it's sped up so very much over the top that it ends up sounding unlike the original (which is a good thing when covering a band I assume).

Martire have been covered in the blackest pits of the underground forever now, and despite having existed for close to a decade now (if not more?) they haven't received the slightest amount of recognition. If you appreciate Blasphemy's 'Blood upon the Altar demo', or even the first Angel Corpse album (with messy yet fitting production intact), they you'll enjoy the band. T.S.I's drumming is simply put, INSANE (although it would have to be to fit some of the riffs that are played at neck break speeds).

Music like this is fueled by the black winds of war - if only the packaging wasn't so fucking awful!
