Skepticism
Aes
[Red Stream]

One twenty-eight minute track packaged in a translucent insert card, which is nice looking. After purchasing the 'Ethere' mCD and realizing that all of the non-filler song from 'Lead and Aether' were on that disc, I was a tad cynical about this one...

But it's still Skepticism, albeit a re-tooled version of the band. Everything musically is still extremely recognizable, but the band have almost become ambient by removing the guttaral vocals for the most part, and placing greater emphasis on lightly spoken ones.

And so the song builds up in typical Skepticism fashion for six minutes before breaking off - but not before the guitars almost start to grind - into another dark, depressing, and heavy on the keyboards track of funeral doom. No matter what my mood is, Skepticism somehow always manages to freeze it in it's most bleak state.

Twenty-two minutes of total depression...
