Early Warning
The Hero's NIGHTMLARE!
[Unsung Heroes]

This is Lord Vic (Rampage)'s old band he played bass for, between 1992-94. This 63 minute CD is in step with the early 80's and a bit of late 70s (ie. Iron Maiden, Samson, Witchfynde, early Queensryche, first 2 Dio albums). This isn't as "rocking" as the NWOBHM, more in line with the next phase of heavy metal with more thoughtful riffing, solos and lyrics.

"Beholden" is very memorable, "Guilty by Suspicion" is more aggressive. Chris Singer's smooth singing flows , and makes this album appeal to fans of Blind Illusion, Heathen, Savatage, and old Iron Maiden (as long as they can accept the production. Basic meat and potatoes heaviness. This IS an underground album, which would never have been put on CD if it wasn't for Vic).

The three best tracks of this defunct Atlanta band here are "Narcissus" "North Breeze" (both on the UHR sampler) and "The Demon's Call".

"Ode to Sven" is cool but I was clawing my brain trying to figure out what the vocal melody/phrasing sounded like...it's 'the ants went marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah...'!!!

Two rare, live tracks are tacked on at the end. Overall, this album is a 6 out of 10, with the three best songs getting an 8 out of 10.

Trax:Blinding Colors/ Wings of Steel/ Beholden/ Guilty By Suspicion/ Narcissus/ Romantic Darkness/ North Breeze/ Missing Memories/ Ode to Sven/*BONUS TRX* Beyond the Mirror (live)/ The Demon's Call (live).
