Maniac Butcher
Invaze
[Pussy God]

Good old Maniac Butcher is one of those bands you can always rely on to deliver the goods. Whichever release from them you choose to pick up, you are sure to be greeted with a solid slab of Butcher-style black metal violence. While it is true that the band never really strayed from their established formula, everything they created was done with much conviction and honesty. On this album's cover they may look quite silly with those huge axes of theirs, but you can be sure that these guys believe 100% in what they are doing. "Invaze" then is arguably Maniac Butcher's best effort since "Lukan Antikrist," if not better. Not that it will take the band's fans completely by surprise, but Vlad Blasphemer is still the man when it comes to churning out those nasty riffs, and here he is doing a grand job, while Butcher's drumming is positively kick-ass. And let's not forget those overblown yet cool song titles that Mr. Barbarud Hrom seems to fancy so much nowadays. Each song on "Invaze" has a sentence long name. Check this out. "Bloody thoughts, as well as other different needs for easy running of war on the battlefield." Or, "Destructive invasion, bringing undying fame to heroes and inevitable death to losers." If anyone else did that, they would just look stupid, but our Czech friends somehow make it sound cool. Anyhow, god is dead, Maniac Butcher rule, and you suck. Take care now.
