Ram-Zet
Pure Therapy
[Spikefarm]

This is so far down the homosexual line that I think it actually falls off the scale and laps itself twice. Ram-Zet (beginning as a solo project) are a modern-sounding Norwegian band with the acute ability of being able to play so abysmally that they actually make most Norsecore crap look appealing. The only reason I'm not lumping them in with the pathetic genre to being with is because there are virtually no black metal ties besides the stupid and annoying vocals by Mr. Ramseth himself. Instead, we have a corroboration of violins, flutes, choirs, wanking melodic guitar solos, and some flat-voiced female whose sole purpose I assume is to appear catchy because she really offers very little else. This is kind of like a bad hybrid between Meshuggah and Nexus Polaris - the industrial tones are wretchedly generic and thus only succeed in making the album appear "softer" than necessary. A pretty damn bad coalition overall.

Spikefarm has done it again. First person to e-mail me gets this one for free.
