[Epidemic]

Not to be confused with the other Soulstorm who were around at the the same time. Brief summary. Bassist/Vocalist Nick Sagias left Overthrow (I think they felt disbanding anyway) to join Pestilence. He moved there, jammed, maybe played some shows, then while recording what was the third Pestilence album in Florida, couldn't take any more shit and moved back to the T.O. area. After chilling out, he went with his gut and decided to play his favourite type of music, industrial death metal like Godflesh. After a great 4 song demo, this album was released in 1992 (out of print? Epidemic went under, but Ron Sumners now has a new label called Saw Tooth or Sweet Tooth???)

This IS a lot more accessible and catchy and way more headbanging than Godflesh. It's doomy, dreary and morose, but made for headbangers while Godflesh was for art fags. Heavy drums (programmed),pitchshifted vocals, and robotic song structures. This is for fans who dig both Hellhammer and maybe Skinny Puppy (what the hell do I know??). I still love the first two tracks and "nothingness".

1- degeneration mode/ endless human failure/ disruption/ empty mental room
2- stranglehold/ nothingness/ helpless to habit/ burning

PS. If you ever want to bug Nick, keep asking him for the demo of his old band the Sick Fucks.
