Black Funeral
Journeys Into Horizons Lost
[Abyss]

What we have here is the demo material from America's own, Black Funeral. Honestly, I have never been a fan of the band, and so I did not expect to get much out of this release. However, on my first listen, I was pleasantly surprised to hear some quality music coming from my speakers. As it turns out, this material is actually quite distinct from the later Black Funeral, and it provides a somewhat organic outlook on their music that really isin't available, in my opinion of course, on anything else. Throughout the tape, there are some really nice smatterings of acoustic guitars, which introduce a somber feeling to the atmosphere, and it is nicely complimented by the shit production which seems to fade in and out at will. As far as tunes go, the material is fairly basic, relying heavily on the rasps of Baron Abaddon, and simply but effectively played guitar lines. Nothing to special, but not a complete loss.

I am quite sure all the songs are unique to the demo, but I have included a track list for those who might think otherwise ( I am really not sure! ). Anyhow, the tape is quite hard to come by, and I wouldn't even recommend it to anyone except the diehard fans of the band anyways.

1. Into the stars of a blazing past
2. Journeys into horizons lost.
3. The land beyond the forest
4. Armaggedon (lord Sathanas returns)
5. Voice of a forgotten ghoul.
