Immortal
Live Zaandam
[Nordic Empire]

Incredibly shitty sounding, this is probably the hardest CD of IMMORTAL to find, nowadays it's almost as difficult to get as EMPEROR's "A midsummer night's dream". It consits in the live gig played by the band in Zaandam, NL, on the 10th of June 1994.

The guy who made this bootleg was a rip-off, because there is only one track on the CD, and there are 8 songs played in the show ! So there is only one 29' long track and you have to listen everything at once, you can't chose your song... In addition to this, in the booklet it is said that 9 songs were played during the gig, but in fact only 8 are performed, that guy thought that the "Eternal years on the path to the cemetary gates" consisted in two tracks, "Eternal years" & "on the path to the cemetery gates"... Pathetic, isn't it ? If he/she was really a fan of the band, such mistakes certainly wouldn't have appeared...

The sound is absolutely HORRIBLE, it is a shame such recordings do exist ! And I thought only bootlegs could have such a sound, but nowadays there are some bands who keep releasing live recordings with such a pitiful quality (ANTAEUS for example). You can't recognize any song, even if you are a die-hard fan ! The man who recorded this certainly got it on a camrecorder or a tape recorded extremely well hidden in his pocket, as you can hear much better the conversation between people surrounding him than the music...

So you understood this is only for completists or for those who worship IMMORTAL (if such people really exist...), but even if the sound is extremely shitty and even if the purpose of this CD is obviously to make money, I have to recognize that I prefer listening to such a recording than listening to the last 3 LPs of the band...

1 / 10 (at least the cover art is nice, isn't it ?)
