Galgeras
Uwer Ter Ere
[More Fucking Hate]

Uwer ter Ere is the inaugural release both for Holland-based black metal band Galgeras and for US-based label/distro More Fucking Hate Productions and this release does both entities proud. Shades of the usual second-wave influences abound (most notably Burzum and Darkthrone, perhaps a bit more Burzum with their darker, more twisted take on the Norse sound), but with addition of strange keyboard parts on top of some parts, a bit of a spacey guitar sound that fuses dementia and psychedelia perfectly in the scope of black metal, and some disgusting vocals. Slower tempos are pretty much the order of the day, mixed with faster sections--the slow parts are masterful. I've always thought there aren't enough bands who draw doom influence into black metal. There's one keyboard interlude track, but it's actually played, sounding a bit like an organ sonata or some piece of classical music. I could see this on a movie soundtrack, actually. Their take on black metal is pretty unique, actually, so while I can describe the elements I can only say they put it together in a way I can pretty much guarantee you have not heard before. It's a bit demented, a bit psychedelic, and a lot misanthropic.

You better hurry to get this--it is strictly limited to 200 CDs and it may be sold out already. Snooze and lose. . .
