Hirilorn
Legends Of Evil And Eternal Death
[Drakkar]

Melodic and complex black metal, this is what you'll find on this CD. HIRILORN plays a music that can be linked to Black Metal with the vocals and some drum parts, but in fact the band's main influences certainly come from Heavy metal. This album is more a kind of melancholic / nostalgic heavy black metal release than anything else, and I have to say I haven't heard any band playing such a music anywhere else. There are keyboard parts that increase this melancholy, but they are not used in the same way as most BM bands do. Production's good and this could be listened to by many people, but I'm sure very few could understand the meaning of the songs... This is really a unique release, for those who like original underground albums with skilled musicians, lyrics over the average in Black Metal and EPIC parts. Too bad this band disappeared in 1999, they were really uncommon... The band's leader, Shaxul, now rules the French label EAL and plays in DEATHSPELL OMEGA together with Hasjarl.
