Mütiilation
Vampires Of Black Imperial Blood
[Drakkar]
The Black Legions have created a kind of "mystery" around their names. No interviews (or maybe just a few),
no contact with any part of the actual "scene", and in addition to this they were the oldest Black Metal bands coming
from France (if you except GORGON, which was the oldest one as it was created aroud '90/'91). This is certainly why they
reached such a "cult" status nowadays, and many people worship their early recordings, as for example for this first
MÜTIILATION CD. It was out on Drakkar on 1996, limited to 1000 copies (now all sold-out and if you want to get it
you'll have to be ready to pay the price for it...) and offers some insane and depressive Black Metal, not for the
"synth-lovers" that were invading the whole scene at the time (and who are still doing so). There's no drummer on this release, and this drum-machine
creates a darker feeling than on the band's previous recordings, on which the approximative drum parts were ruining
the atmosphere created by the vocalist's insane yells (there's no other words to describe them !!!) and the cold guitar riffs.
On this "Vampire...", from the first track 'til the excellent "Tears of a melancholic vampire", you are led into a land of sorrow, hatred,
pain and you are more than invited to praise Satan and let Him tear your soul apart. These songs were created by people you can't
qualify as "normal" people, many disharmonic themes are here to prove you these guys don't do Black metal in order to get "extreme
sensations", but they really believed in this dark side of the music. So if you like primitive black metal primitive ways of recording, insane
vocals, insane guitar riffs and if you don't care approximative releases (no professionnal stuff here, for sure...) you can buy this CD
and praise the names of the glorious BLACK LEGIONS.
