Ulver/Immortal
Split
[Dead Not Found]

This is a bootleg split CD featuring old recordings of both bands. ULVER tracks are taken from their '93 promo tape called "Vargnatt", and there's also one track taken from the split EP with MYSTICUM. I think the guys who created this disk should have also included the MYSTICUM track from this split EP, because here you feel like you lack something ! Anyway... ULVER tracks have a pure horrible sound, it's almost impossible to listen to such a shit ! When you decide to make such a bootleg, if you don't have the original recordings you try to get some tape or CDR dub of them with decent or good sound quality ! But these guys obviously didn't care, they took a dubbed version of this demo with incredible crappy sound... And as I have this original ULVER promo tape I can tell you the sound on the original tape was clear, not like that... So the ULVER part has no interest at all. IMMORTAL tracks are their '91 promo tape called "The northern upir's death". These ones have a very good sound, they present a young death metal band playing a "Norwegian" death metal as it could be in the beginning of the '90s ; when you listen to this you will immediately think to OLD FUNERAL as the music IMMORTAL played at the time was very similar to OF's demos. But you will also recognize many riffs that would lately appear (in more "Black Metal" versions) on the band's first CD, "Diabolical..." The line-up on this recording is the one of the first CD (Abbath, Demonaz, Armagedda), which makes impressive the change ion the band's style in only a year... The artwork of this CD is nice (especially the back cover showing a Shagrath from Dimmu B. using his cock in a "non-catholic" maneer...) and IMMORTAL tracks are essential for the fanatics of the band, but those who like ULVER don't especially need this CD, because of the shitty sound of ULVER part. This is very bad, as this recording is great and it would have given a huge interest to this CD...
