I Shalt Become
Wanderings
[Independent]

I don't know very much about this band besides the somewhat derogatory rumors I have heard through individuals in the American NS scene. Regardless, I.S.B later changed to Birkenau; the name under which they had a track featured on the "Night and the Fog" comp.. some time ago. If you have heard that track, you know quite well that style of music that the band plays; slow, distorted BM in the vein of Filosfem and Suicidal Emotions.

To say that I have any respect for the band would perhaps be going to far. There is very little talent in the music, if any. The guitars are terrible, and barely keep in time with each other. The drumming is a machine, which evenso, does not stay in time with the progressions. The vocals are dissonant and demented; perhaps the best thing about Wanderings.

I would recommend that bands, as such, not feel the need to contribute anything to the BM scene. The prerequisite for NSBM has become so low that almost any individual with a home computer and a few extra dollars can produce a demo, and call it cult. Not so. There is a subtle, but fine line between the bands who can do this well, and those who cannot. An example of the former, Wineta, is a spectacular NSBM band with little talent, but undoubtedly one of the best atmospheres in the genre. In a similar vein, I.S.B is a technically ill qualified ensemble, with a great atmosphere. However, it simply degrades the bands out there such as Graveland, Kataxu, Gontyna Kry, Moontower, Pantheon, and Swastyca, who are all excellent musicians, for bands like I.S.B to enter the scene, release a demo like this, and be called cult NSBM!

The atmosphere on this album, as I said prior, is amazing. Imagine Filosfem, but darker and more strangulating. I suppose it is a personal matter if one enjoys music like this or not.
