Your own music

Already, that's a massive improvement on what was already good.  The riffs now have character and individuality.  A constant drum line is fine for something "atmospheric", like Burzum's Black Metal, but it doesn't work nearly as well in any other kind of Metal (which is why I'm currently finding Bolt Thrower's Warmaster to be a bit hard to get into - the drums just seem stagnant for much of it).  Morbid Angel is the best example I can think of, when it comes to percussive dynamism.

If you were to lengthen that song, create a strong and epic narrative with the riffs, and perhaps add leads/vocals, it would be fantastic.

I had a good friend also tell me that my songs should be longer and that if I was to repeat riffs for longer measures, that would be fine. I trap my self in to making the riffs too short for each section.

I used to end up creating four-bar riffs which I would repeat four times.  Whenever I caught myself doing it, I thought "what notes can I make longer or shorter, and how long can I extend this riff for?".

And here is another piece of rock that I am doing for my lady's project:

I approach rock in a different manner, as you would expect.

Again I have changed some riffs here and added a solo. Also thanks to you Cargèst, I took you suggestion and added more fills for that dramatic effect.

And I just put new strings on today. Nothing like new steel to pump myself up for playing!

In a moment I will have another edition of Pagan Fire. This time with my vocals!

Hi all, I normally post and lurk here under a different username.

I'd like some feedback on the demo I made and recorded with an old band I once played guitar for:

Wow, that was awe inspiring, paradigm smashing brilliance.

Leaving the band was the worst mistake you have, and ever will make in life. You might as well cut your dick off a join a monastery at this point...

Is that sarcasm? You forgot your sarcasm tags.

Yeah, it's important to accommodate the thicker ones among us, particularly if its their music you're talking about.

Cute. Since when has it been standard for ANUS forum to cliquishly belittle everyone they come across? Can we get some honest critique and breakdown of the music?

By no means is it an obligation -- there are people who are willing to volunteer a small amount their time to do that for a stranger on the Internet. I was given the impression that this was the kind of place and the kind of thread for these constructive kinds of things, but by all means tell me if I'm in the wrong.

People will not give you a serious response because it is clear that what you are really looking for is an ego boost. You know that the music is awful, you said as much in your post. Do you really need this to be affirmed by a bunch of strangers on the net?

Im guessing this was motivated by some angst towards your moronic band members, and you are now seeking confirmation that you are the superior one. You probably feel shameful for your passive behaviour as well, move on! Don't work with morons and create something you have pride in next time.

If your passive aggression doesn't make you feel queazy, something is blurred.

Very well, I see where you're coming from so I removed the irrelevant crap. The reason why I ask for thoughts on that material is I'd like to work with some of it and trash the rest.

So with all that said, I can stand behind my other material:

There's only one song I've recorded for this one but it's essentially complete, beginning-middle-end. Speed metal style.

The first 3 songs are a few I did 3 years ago with some primitive recording skills. I never figured out how to flesh out any of these or how to end them properly but I find a lot of elements salvageable.
The last one is a more recent redo of the Warkrusher track "Nightwounds" and I'm still at odds on how to develop this one into a fuller song with a conclusion.
