Daghkagg - Visions of Eternal Doom (Demo)
1. Harvested Souls of the Master - 3:41
2. The Infernal Grace - 6:18
3. Salomon's Gate (Beherit Cover) - 3:30
I'm not quite sure what to call this, but it definitely falls into the "Black/Death" spectrum of things. This demo used to have 5 tracks (was originally intended to have 6, but my recording equipment failed before I could finish track 5), but 3 and 4 simply weren't as good as 1, 2, and the Beherit cover, so I scrapped them, with the intention of using the best riffs to write new material for this project. This is the "streamlined" version of the demo which I sent out to labels etc.
Beherit/Blasphemy and Infester are probably the most recognisable influences, in terms of the atmosphere/essence (rather than melodic sense/composition). I want to invoke Lovecraftian images of baleful infinity, under the banner of the hellish/demonic/Satanic forces of reality, though not necessarily from a "human" perspective (i.e. like the aforementioned bands, the perspective is often one of the Tormentor, rather than the tormented). An intelligence which we are incapable of understanding committing acts which we deem evil for a goal which is totally obscure to us.
I'd really love to rerecord these and include the final track, the epic piece that binds all previous themes together while hinting at an impending, timeless suffering. It's just incomplete without that track, given the "Black Metal" structure of the release as a whole (as you should probably expect from me by now). Still, this is a good taster.
Criticism is requested, if anyone has the time.
