Reminded me of this - may be old to some folks but I only saw it somewhat recently...I laughed out loud:

Did you write it yourself or did you dub the original recording with some old surf music like the other dude on youtube does? :)

I was in northern Norway a couple of years ago sitting on the shore waxing down my board in preparation to surf the Lofoten maelstrom when a gnarly old Norwegian surfer with skin so pale it was almost translucent appeared next to me holding a tatty old LP. He handed me the record, mumbled something incoherent then walked off. I merely brought the record home digitized and cleaned up the recording, and finally got round to putting it up here for people to listen to.

Easily on par with Darkflags.  I love this shit, and am actually going to ask the guy for mp3s.

Childish and boring. As if black metal needs more youtube parodies.

This thread is extremely stupid and projects a desire to be merely entertained.

You are mistaking method with goal. Darkflags parodies the bad Darkthrone, these surfvideos seem to parody the good BM.

You're looking at it as if it's a parody.  Why?

How dare you mock such a mature and sophisticated art-form!

Normally these videos are kinda dumb but the I Am The Black Wizards one is pretty good. Probably because the melody could actually pass for being a surf song.

That's a really cheap shot and I'm calling you out on it. Funny thing that both of you (Andrew and Cargest) are musicians and both of you will never even come close to the influential and genius Immortal or old Emperor. I guess jealousy can be a real pain for bedroom musicians such as yourselves... so enjoy your youtube video, retards. Just remember that nobody will ever give that much of a shit about you.

That's a really cheap shot and I'm calling you out on it.  Funny thing that you're not even a musician and so you actually will never even come close to the infuential and genius immortal or old Emperor.  I guess jealousy can be a real pain for non-musicians such as yourselves... so enjoy your impetuous negation of anything that isn't canon, retard.  Just remember that nobody gives a shit about you.

Look, I can make pointlessly aggressive and factually incorrect posts without answering a question or challenge, too!  Also, I will achieve the same status as old Immortal and Emperor.  I'm too concerned not to.

Edit: also, you may want to re-read the title of this thread.  If you still don't get it, then I'll spell it out for you - I'm saying that the compositional skill of Emperor is so great that the music they've written is good regardless of instrumentation or context, which is a feat of absolute genius.  Their music is so good that even in this deplorable format, it's still awe-inspiring.

I was wondering if any of these idiots were gonna pick up on that point any time soon.

That Immortal video was an exercise done in fun, sorry to burst the bubbles of the srs bsns transcendentalists here. This thread is also an exercise in fun. Cargest has an excellent point here, and I must say The Beherits' "Gate of Nanna" was quite funny.

I don't know about other musicians here, but I honestly don't give a fuck if I don't come near the quality of old Immortal or Emperor, because I'm not going to be producing black metal. In terms of musical quality, I'd rather start with high standards of my own than have to be measured by high standards of others.

I'd like to create something that inspires other (similar) people as much as I've been inspired by the old Norwegian bands, if only because there's a satisfaction to be found in that kind of continuation.

I would like to direct all surf BM fans to the new Negative Plane album:
