congratulations america, you've dispatched a largely irrelevant figurehead. enjoy your symbolic victory and 'freedom and liberty' masturbatory nonsense. also, hasn't he been dead for a few years already, and replaced with a fellow who only vaguely resembles him? either way, i'm just hiding in a cave until the nauseating wave of mindless patriotism subsides after this one.

Stupid fools they have only made him stronger. He will come back as a Jihadist Jedi Ghost and fly boats into Walmarts across the country. I fear only white bearded Jesus can save us now

Indeed - I live in New York...this should be a long few days/weeks until this mindlessly reflexive euphoria wears off. The obligatory and nauseatingly predictable, "USA...USA..." chants among idiots on the streets(in Times Square of all places) almost brought my late dinner back up.

The Herd shall be in rare form this week...

Good riddance, OBLs death has brought to an end Pakistan's policy of sheltering jihadis and supporting the so-called global war on terror!

Apparently they dumped his body in the ocean. Am I the only one here who is starting to doubt this whole story is actually true? There's no corpse anymore but apparently pictures do exist. I suppose they will be released once the CIA is done photoshopping them.

Perhaps Osama had been dead for years already. They just pretended that he was still alive to keep the threat of terrorism alive. Now that the USA wants to pack up their shit and leave Afghanistan they decided it would be good timing to announce his death (on the same date that Hitler's death was announced in 1945, coincidence?)

The cheering of the herd will end in a few weeks, or perhaps days. But we will be hearing from the conspiracy theorists forever now. Great job America, have a hamburger and a light beer and watch some porn and enjoy your freedom!

Same here, friend. I'm glad I don't live in NYC though, I don't know if I could handle the celebrations that this flimsy "victory" brings. As Anarcho Hesh put it, this will only make him stronger. Now to the jihadists, he is a martyr, and someone else will rise to take his place. I would bet this new person will be even more violent and anti-American.

Good job USA, you continually try to solve problems by stamping out the effects. A colossal bite in the ass is long overdue.

This is simply not true.  Al Qaeda is deeply theological in structure, and because of that his death will deal a huge blow to morale to them and others related to their cause.  Al Qaeda is not some shapeless formless entity with no leadership or structure.  As religious fundamentalists they emulate their workings in much the same way a church would, and its leadership holds the power and prestige commensurate with leaders of such organizations.  At least one person on this forum makes a living out of knowing precisely how this and other organizations work, so it might be wise to not talk out of your ass on subjects you don't fully understand.

And if others in this thread truly believe this is all some ploy by the government, or a conspiracy of some sort, you are indulging in exactly the same kind of "masturbatory nonsense" and mindlessness you claim to oppose.

I was under the impression that they operated in largely autonomous cells, but even if they didn't Al qaeda is just one of many Jihadist groups. Who knows what will happen at this point America might actually have quelled the Radical Islamic threat or perhaps only kicked the shit out of the hornets nest. As David Myatt pointed out Radical Islam might be the only force that can pose a threat to the hubris and materialism of the west. It's just a waiting game now

i am not a conspiracy theorist, but unless 'just for men' was being stashed away in secret cavernous hiding places, he was dead before this "happened". there is an extremely obvious discrepancy between his appearance in videos before and after a certain date, wherein the later videos he looks significantly younger. so it seems to me that, not only was the united states using the comic book character of osama bin laden as a powerful symbol, so were the islamic terrorists releasing the videos. not to mention the talk of the cia and british intelligence declaring him dead, benazir bhutto slipping on television and proclaiming him deceased, etc. i'm not normally into conspiratorial shit like that, but taking everything into account it requires a greater leap of faith to assume that he was alive all the way up until this point. i mean come on, he was dying of liver failure 8 years ago while living in a fucking cave. we either killed a replacement, or killed some goatfucking farmer and dropped him into the ocean to drum up hurrahs and cheers and patriotic sentiment. whether this will deal a blow to islamic terrorists, i don't know. you would most likely know better than i do, but if this thing really was a farce, it will accomplish nothing more than to embarrass and anger terror cells. as a result, they'll go blow up some precious art or make a bomb out of camel shit and waste some bright-eyed football player from tennessee who just wanted to "serve his country". if it really was the man they say it was, which i find extremely hard to believe, then hopefully you're right and it accomplishes something. however, i'm fairly sure that a lot of people, like me, are pretty tired of giving the government the benefit of the doubt, or were never really fans of it in the first place. i can't help but think that this is going to blow up in obama's face somewhere down the road.
