just how multifaceted are humans?

just how multifaceted are humans?

when we wake up, when we eat, breathe, drag our asses outside, develop skills, ULTIMATELY what are we doing this for? If evolution is right, then this we do it for the same reasosn everya nimal we've descended from has done it - to breed at some point. If incapable of breeding, then we do things to  improve the conditions of the whole human race, to contribute somehow. Improving conditions means that our population thrives. Why should it? Killing off stupid people so that they don't breed just means that someone else will breed, We are all pretty fucking stupid. It doesn't matter how well rounded you are on deceaced white figures or history if you're politically inclined to the left, or right, up or down.
The same patterns will follow. If a natural disaster wipes out the majority of us and the environment starts to repair itself, the remaining people will be enough to repopulate the world, again. Causing the same problems AGAIN.  We'll just keep doing the same shit, until the sun consumes us. Think about it.

You bring up a good point put you have to consider are potential for growth. What if we develop a more progressive thinking civilization and then begin to colonize other places other than earth? At that point the possibilities could be endless.(insert eerie space age theremin sound here)

Consider that a body is a collection of collections of cells working towards similar purposes.  A society is much the same - it is a collection of collections of people working towards similar purposes, and the collection itself could be said to be working towards a purpose (just as the body): its own growth and survival.

Now, consider that there are people, such as us, who are able to understand this, and, furthermore, able to operate with it in mind.  The difference between a society made up of these people, and a society made up of everyone else, should be obvious.  I think you're forgetting that a lot of people are intrinsically malicious towards their collective(s), because they're not good enough, thus the only method they have of stamping their existence into history is to sabotage the efforts of the worthy (destruction is easier than creation).

The universe needed a means to see itself and understand. That's us.

Would not you want to create massive phallic monuments throughout space?

Do you think we could make a phallus so big, it has it's own gravitational pull that will allow us to construct smaller phalluses in orbit around it? See Diesel, the key is you must make your own meaning of life, and our meaning is worship, understanding and proliferation of the phallus.

Diesel, we will be living in giant phallic satellites orbiting Jupiter and we will construct phallic battering rams and push them away into Earth as our way of saying, "Ha ha, fuck you!"

we've ruined shit down here so we'll ruin shit up there! If we find habitable planets we'll spend years flying over there, settle, only to ultimately make them inhabitable again. then what? on to the next one?
any meaning you create in your brain is illusory, same with any happiness. When life seems meaningful, life seems good, when life seems good that makes you want to throw your seed out there. We really are just slightly more complex than A-B computer programming. Okay what are you gonna do when you discover meaning? sit on a bench and revel in that? Been there done that. you're still decaying, you still have biological forces tormenting you day to day, you still don't know why you get up every morning. you still live in a disgustingly indulgent society of morons. days will go by, decades will go by. and then death. Huzzah. Life is the birth, development, procreation, and decay of organic organisms. How the fuck do you ditch that reality?

The point of life is the continuation of life, as people though are lives are bit more complex meaning we develop ideas, social norms, culture, tools etc. If we begin to see that there is more to the universe than are petty indulgences and needs we undoubtedly can move forward.  So what if you live just to die? If you figure out you're part in the jigsaw puzzle and play you're role you are helping the species as a whole. The cosmos is just waiting to be inhabited by are Megalithic Phallus Armada! I can almost here the solar system moaning already.
