ANAL CUNT songwriter Seth Putnam has died

ANAL CUNT's publicist, Kim Kelly of Catharsis PR, has confirmed via Twitter that the band's frontman, Seth Putnam, died earlier today (Saturday, June 11) of a suspected heart attack. He was 43 years old.

Commented Kelly: "Yes, it's true. Seth Putnam, one of the most infamous musicians that extreme metal has ever seen, the grindcore GG Allin, has passed away due to a heart attack.

AC was almost an obsession of mine when I was younger.  I would listen to Morbid Florist, 40 More Reasons To Hate Us, Top 40 Hits, and Everyone Should Be Killed all the damn time, subjecting my friends, family and co-workers to Seth's brand of humour and noise.  It actually kind of annoyed me when I Like It When You Die had actual song structure, but I grew to like that too.  As far as trolls go, Seth was royalty.  Everything any modern troll could conceive Seth probably recorded and released back in the early 90's. 

Sorry to eulogize the man so much.  I just really fucking liked his band.

Living in Europe, you meet with a lot of cynicism about American culture. People here say that Americans are unsophisticated; they don't have their own culture; they live in a world of lowest common denominator consumerism; they are thick; fat; inbred; etc etc. I could go on.

Europe is just trying to cover the fact that it's a constant fuck-up. Bitch about Americans, then emulate them. What the fuck? I mean, I can take Europe's criticism, if they'd stop buying Coca-Cola and McDonald's. But they're whores for it where most educated people in USA run in fear from that shit. Putnam had some good insights, was a good fellow. But if you're looking for genius in the USA, don't look in popular music. It's just not a genius proposition.
