Well, there was this girl that I liked. I met her when I was doing shopping, I saw her standing near a crate of tomatoes and she looked gorgeous. I don't really know about "techniques".  Without really thinking about it, I go in for the cliché of "just be yourself", and I seem to get plenty enough interest from girls (sometimes too much).  That's probably because I'm fucking gorgeous, taller/better built than 90% of the world's population, am highly intelligent, and have a good sense of humour.  Maybe you should just focus on improving yourself to the nth degree - you might find that girls are more into guys who improve themselves than guys who are constantly trying to get girls.  That's my experience, at least.

Agreed. I was trying to get this girl for a while by trying all these tricks (acting like a dick) and I ended up attracting all the wrong women instead which just made eveything worse. After pulling my head out of my arse and chilling out it all worked out fine and we now live together.
