When do we all throw in the towel, realize that with a handful of exceptions modern music is the same old pop/rock/country format, and just start listening to classical?
For electronic stuff, I can see the appeal of Beherit-style darkwave, Kraftwerk synthpop, Tangerine Dream, Eno, maybe a few others... but that's it. It's literally a handful of bands that are not transparent as aquarius says.
Then there's a metric fukton of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Wagner and Schumann to explore... and all of it is more complex and more emotionally interesting. Even if I do have to throw on the Sisters of Mercy now and again.
