Apologies before I get into this post - I can't find the "ANUS members' own musical projects" thread. (mods feel free to move this post if you feel it necessary)

Myself, Conquest, and others who have been or are members of this forum are currently involved in a black metal band called Wulfgravf. The band initially was active in the early 2000s but has recently been resurrected. I'm the newbie member as I haven't contributed to any recordings as of yet. A split release with Nuklearenpest and Thestral was put out a little while ago.

Information can be found here - http://www.anus.com/metal/hall/index.php/topic,13980.0.html

FYI - the tape that was released has some issues with the mix which renders the quality very poor. I would advise those who wish to listen to this release to contact myself or Conquest in order to receive a download link or a physical copy of the tape. We will be able to provide the material with a superior sound quality. The label only has a limited number and a good portion of them have the erroneous mix.

I'd also like to personally endorse Thestral as producing fantastic material which is very much worth a listen. Again, any further information needed can be obtained by messaging myself or Conquest. Cheers.

This seems to be the relevant link.

Just kidding. Checking it out now.

Thanks for the separate thread, and the thought provoking review.

This is my personal favorite track from the earlier period.

That this band inculcates in its work longer phrasing, as well as riffs that are bold assertion as well as ambient/aesthetic/structural tool. The best works of black metal are grand gestures.
That the output of this band reflects the refined tastes and superior understanding of its members.

What are you guys working on now?

Please note that the sound issue has been fixed on ALL copies going forward.  Order with confidence from FE.

thought provoking review.

Thought provoking? It was a solicitation.

Now that I've heard a couple tracks:

It's not black metal. It's basic punk with screechy vocals. Some cool stuff done with the endings of riffs, otherwise pretty standard. For a first demo, good in that it never gets boring, for what it is (it holds up the level of quality to its form throughout, meaning it's deliberate). I like it but at this stage in my musical career wouldn't seek it out. Looking forward to seeing what the band does in the future, hopefully a little more instrumental confidence and melody will shake out... a good first effort.

Thanks for the actual thought provoking review this time. Heh.

Conquest tells me he took a lot of influence from Absurd while composing the material from the Nukpest/Thestral split. It shows.

If you'd like there's also material from the split with Grom (US) which I personally enjoy more than this newly released one. The music is Graveland meets Darkthrone type stuff on that split.

We will keep you all updated with future progress; it's finals time for me so I unfortunately don't have time to jam/compose with my fellow bandmates.

The one from Fullmoon Warfare was enjoyable, but kind of theatrical and goofy in its disparate elements. Like Tartaros and Absurd doing Thousand Swords. Definitely potential for great stuff.

Humanicide, Jormungandr and I will be entering the studio in the next few weeks to start recording on the new album. Since I know this would be in good hands, I'm making this available to a select few people, the DLA community included.

Also, new Wulfgravf interview with Defiance Magazine:

ENJOY! and if you like this, order our stuff from Fallen Empire Records and Merchant of Death distro.

Don't know what the deal is with that magazine site - any time I go to open up that PDF I am just taken to a blank tab. Anyone else have this problem?

Nope.  I thoroughly enjoyed the interview (and the rest of the zine, a healthy mix of good thought and amusing skinheads).
