Sadly, our science is bullshit

Knucklehead? You have some experience of this, then?
Leftist judgmentalism at work: Sieze words. Create enemy. Hate enemy. Feel better. Feel smarter. Win!
Amusement arrives in many forms.

We appear to view 'Reality' as two entirely different things.
My view: what exists before humans fuck with it. And still exists afterwards, although now rendered undetectable.
Other view: How we interpret a set of infinitely random data to suit what we want to do with it.

No doubt, a great deal of science is scientific, and of use.
What do you believe the use of science is?

Quote
The least use of all are the ones who, understanding none of it, parrot the science around as if it were The Word Of God.
I fully agree with this. I would really like people who don't study science to just shut the fuck up about it. They all sound like retards, and if their dogmatic retardation weren't so destructive, they would be nothing but a source of ridicule.

Science is useful in that it can allow measured observation of the mystic wonder of reality, to be put to practical use, by humans, to help them co-exist with, and be part-of that reality.
It becomes totally counterproductive when seen as a replacement for reality, or a means to run counter to reality.
And be aware: the term 'reality' has zero meaning to most humans, who imagine it to be something that humans create.
For example:
Concerned human: "Gee, sorry to hear your house burned down! That must be awful!"
Unconcerned human: "Not a problem! I was covered by insurance."

Either you see it, or you don't.
And, statistically, you probably won't.

The common flaw I see is that most people seem to conflate reality with their perception of it. But I see what you mean.

If you see what I mean, you are a rare beast.
But I am aware of what is said about Jews.
Smarter than the average bear!

Infinitely random.

Sadly, our elitism is bullshit.

What does 'elite' mean, for example?
If one knows something others do not, is one elite, or part of an elite?
The term was once complimentary, but like so many other words, has lately come to suggest its opposite.

Faux elitism is bullshit. It's something we should strive to avoid here.
No.

Having reviewed the thread, baby Jesus is most definitely weeping at this point.

And how to tell the real, from the faux?
I suspect one's definition of 'reality' might have an influence upon that.

It's not style. I am unconcerned with such things.
My reasons for being here are my own.

"be pleasant or be ignored...don't you want to be taken seriously?"

Excerpts from the conversations Emperor had with their manager about their lack of presence in the female demographic?

The problem with science is that it's a business. Research demands funding, and investors demand results.

Science, in itself, isn't business. It is busy-ness.
But too often, science is funded by business.
Busy-ness + business = monster.
Otherwise known as 'bullshit'.
