It's not that it's boring, you gotta have control.
The only thing I can say is: If you cannot control it, do not do it.
When I smoke cannabis, I do it first thing when I wake up and last before going to sleep, everyday. Eventually it gets too familiar, but then when it runs out, you see what you were having. Then only 2 days without it and you do it again and the high seems totally new. But then if you start doing it everyday again it goes back to compulsion. I always got the feeling, when I had my last joint and the weed ended, that the last joint was a great high. This is because I was free of the illusion that there was always going to be another joint, and could appreciate the high more.
Also, when I have weed at home and am at work or college, I can concentrate, but I would lie If I said that the urge to smoke does not arise, specially because I go to work at 1pm, then go straight to college and arrive home at midnight.
And If I have no cannabis and plan to find some, I also think about it. The only way I do not think about it is when I have no plans of buying it.
Cigarettes, due to their un-highness, is one thing I thought I was never going to get hooked to. I was wrong. But it's way easier to quit than cannabis. Because it does not get you high.
There are many options:
-Realize this is destroying you and stop forever
-Same as above, but stopping for a long period of time, so you mature, and maybe can use it with care in the future and only occasionaly
-Admit you are hooked for life and be a stoner/druggie.
