Pitfalls of high IQ

High IQ people are problematic in many ways: they aren't necessarily good at intellectual tasks that less intelligent people breeze by. They are good at some things however that no one else can do.

I'm going to say that the two most important are leadership and top-down design. I like Nietzsche's term for them: sensitive. Not like emos, like scientific instruments. They register more data.

That's the value of intelligence, not trying to make a better mid-level manager or criminal defense lawyer.

They don't know what to apply it to. Most of them go to waste.

Another way to look at the issue is to phrase the question as where can being able to "register more data" not be a positive ability.  It can often lead to inaction and constant, unnecessary second guessing whereas an idiot might not be inhibited by this.

yeah, high IQ folk are shacked to rationality. The few of them who indulge some seemingly irrational passionate dreams, go on to do great things. The ones who don't are doing jobs that are beneath them because it seems rational to follow that course.

IQ measures intelligence potential, since measuring intelligence itself is impossible. I wouldn't bother with anything beyond IQ.

True. High IQ people outside of high IQ roles are slower and more confused.

Some manage to find stability, and then do great things, even if barely acknowledge. A lot of it depends on their family of origin (F.O.O.)

High IQ depression is probably a myth. Statistically depression clusters around older males and teenagers. Anyone with mental awareness is going to be a little bit depressed at least in modern society, because it's a completely depersonalizing experience.
